 Certainly one of the very best restaurants on Ibiza is fair comment for La Casita. Run for over 30 years by Johannes, a superb chef and an inspired restaurateur, La Casita boasts a Mediterranean based menu, with many of his own unique creations. Fig soup, surf & turf, lobster specialities, and a roasted shoulder of lamb to die for!! Creative starters and desserts easily underpin the main courses, as does the imaginative wine list.
Situated in beautiful wooded Valverde on the edge of Cala Llonga, and boasting capacity for 150 plus, Johannes opens from 4pm ‘til midnight on weekdays, (closed on Tuesdays) and from noon ‘til midnight at weekends. Featuring all the usual amenities you would expect, including a children’s play area with slides etc. and a peaceful tree shaded drinks area. Seating, whether inside or outside, or in the huge circular airy marquee is always spacious and beautiful.
For dinner with wine, expect to pay €30 - €40 per person. Sunday lunch offers also the ‘Degusta’ menu for €27, plus wine. The degusta or ‘tasting’ menu provides an opportunity to try a variety of starters ‘meze’ style.

Many years ago when I first visited Ibiza, I was told about La Casita as a MUST place to eat. Regrettably it actually took a while before I got there; I immediately regretted my delay. Most places go up and down a little, and customers follow that pattern…. But La Casita is just so consistently good, it can almost create a blinkered outlook.
Johannes the owner is Austrian; originally a chef, he still demonstrates his expertise with stunningly original dishes. He aims beyond customer satisfaction, to his desire for customer delight. That he manages – always. Many locals recall with great pride when a Masonic Dinner at La Casita one winter was subjected to typical Ibiza ‘tropical storm’. The power failed, but emergency lighting started, and dinner proceeded without a hitch, being served on-time, and deliciously hot.
Johannes offers a function provision for private parties which typically includes wedding receptions, Masonic and other dinners, birthday party, corporate events for whatever purpose etc. La Casita has various ‘little areas’, each with different capacity, enabling every event to enjoy optimum ambience. Should the need arise, Johannes will deliver the ‘La Casita Experience’ to you. Whether for dinner each evening in your holiday villa, or a special celebration, you can dine like Kings and Queens.
Background music soothes guests and diners, while for special functions, facilities for live musicians are readily available. Wifi is freely available for those who need it.
Johannes naturally has a skilled and committed band of helpers, several of whom have been with him for many years. They are friendly, helpful, and proud to be part of such a successful team.
Bearing witness to La Casita’s eminence is the treasured ‘Q’ symbol issued by Calidad Touristica, Spain’s national institute for tourist quality.
