‘Mels’ has been a fixture on the front in Santa Eulalia for almost as long as the beach itself. Over the years this warm and welcoming establishment has expanded into one of the biggest and busiest eateries on the promenade.
Situated under palm trees and green canopies, ‘Mels’ is much more than a snack bar. The menu offers a wide range of English food, from the Full Monty to fish ‘n’ chips, pasties to profiteroles and Sunday lunch to homemade scones.
The large bar provides holidaymakers with refreshments all summer long, whether you are looking for a pint of lager or beer, a bottle of wine, a milkshake or just the essential bottle of water to quench your thirst.
Excellent for families of all sizes, kids menus and high chairs are available. Couples of all ages can also enjoy a romantic cocktail together whilst watching the boats sail in and out of the harbour at sunset and when the more sedate months of September and October arrive, many older visitors to the island go to ‘Mels’ just for the toasted tea-cakes with butter and jam.
The service provided is one of the keys to ‘Mels’ success. In addition to delivering excellent home cooked traditional English fare, they are always willing to help out a customer with a special request; heating up a baby’s’ bottle, recommending a great beach, banana split without the banana or even deciphering the doctors’ handwriting on a Spanish prescription if that is what you need!
For sports fans the big screen T.V. is regularly switched on for important matches and all requests are taken into consideration.
Open for an early morning freshly squeezed o.j. through to a late-night meal with a jug of sangria, ‘Mels’ is recommended as an all round winner on the promenade and continues to be one of Santa Eulalia’s most popular places with loyal and regular customers returning year after year.
